Best pizza in Glasgow?…Paesano pizza!

Last weekend, we drove 300 miles (by we, I mean Kieran… thank you hun!) to Glasgow to see my friend Beth! She is a fellow FY2 doctor in Glasgow and one of my closest friends who I shared many happy memories with whilst at Manchester medical school. We rented an airbnb in the West End near her flat and were the first ones to arrive in Glasgow on Friday evening.

After quickly chucking our bags in the aribnb, we popped over to Beth’s for a catch up and dinner. As it was quite late, we opted for takeaway pizza and apparently for pizzas, Paesano’s is the one. Especially Friday night Paesano’s must be a tradition because there was a long queue for their takeaway pizza!

Their pizza menu – ‘evoo’ stands for extra virgin olive oil (I had to ask). Unfortunately you cannot get this delivered, it’s a pick up only! But the queue was very long still, probably a representation of how good their pizzas are!

I opted for No. 8 but with tomato base as per Beth’s recommendation and it was sooo delicious. So delicious that I barely got a picture of it!! Freshly made sourdough pizza with lots of cheese mmmm

Look at the amount of cheese on the pizza and that perfectly made sourdough crust…. honestly perfection. I normally opt for white truffle mushroom pizza from Otto’s (a Birmingham institution) that has a white base, but this mushroom pizza with added tomato base was really really enjoyable. Wish I could have sampled all of their pizzas… maybe next time! If there’s other amazing pizza places across UK that you would recommend, please let me know on the comments 🙂
